THE LOCATION
The Anchorage Walmer is a perfect seaside getaway, less than a minute's walk from the pebble shoreline of Walmer Beach and with the historic town of Deal just a half mile stroll away. Set on York Road in the Walmer Green Conservation Area and parallel to the parade of local shops on The Strand, The Anchorage was originally a fisherman's cottage built in the mid 19th Century.

THE BEDROOMS
The master bedroom features a king size Hypnos pocket sprung mattress and an en-suite cloakroom. The generously sized second bedroom features two single beds with pocket sprung mattresses for more flexible accommodation. 

The bedrooms are both located on the first floor and the stairs are fairly narrow, so do bear this in mind if you have mobility issues.

THE KITCHEN, BATHROOM AND LAUNDRY
There is a well equipped kitchen including a full size dishwasher, small integrated fridge, microwave, gas hob, electric oven, water filter and all the things you will need to make your stay enjoyable. The bright contemporary downstairs shower room is newly fitted with quality Hans Grohe fittings.

THE DINING AND LIVING SPACES
The dining room features a locally made table built from reclaimed Victorian pine floorboards and seating for six. The living room has comfortable sofas and features some mid-century design classic furniture. Music fans are well catered for with Alexa Smart Speakers and Superfast BT WiFi.

We can't always guarantee there will be sunshine outside for you to enjoy, so there is BT TV with Netflix, a selection of board games and an eclectic choice of books and magazines to browse and inspire.

THE OUTSIDE SPACE
Outside there is a fully enclosed paved garden complete with table and chairs and which is a real sun-trap - perfect for entertaining outdoors or simply for relaxing with a drink of the local wine or ale.

THE ENVIRONMENT AND OUR ART

The cottage benefits from gas central heating, new double glazed windows and LED lighting throughout. We care very much about our environment and have a range of green initiatives which we are rolling out throughout 2023. It also features lots of local art and artists - indeed some of what you see on the walls (and what you rest your wine glass on) is available for sale.
